Portfolio entry is an experience-based entry pathway that provides entry to a range of Curtin courses. Through portfolio entry, you apply for your preferred course with a portfolio of documents that showcase your VET studies, other qualifications, work experience, extra-curricular activities and suitability for university study.
Consider applying for one of Curtin’s free bridging or enabling programs. These programs run for one to two semesters and provide pathways into a range of undergraduate degrees.

If you have a diploma or advanced diploma, you could get credit towards your Curtin degree.
Credit for recognised learning (CRL) – also known as advanced standing or recognition of prior learning – exempts you from studying certain units. This reduces your total course fee and can also cut the length of your degree, meaning you can graduate sooner.

You’re a school leaver if you are a current year 12 student and due to graduate this year.
General and course-specific admission criteria
Check the admissions criteria of your chosen course to confirm that TAFE/VET entry is an accepted pathway. Your course may also have additional criteria that you’ll need to meet, such as completed study in a certain subject. You can find this information by checking the admissions criteria on the course page.
English language requirements
Additionally, you’ll need to meet our English language requirements. There are several ways to demonstrate your English competency, so be sure to check which option is best for you. If you hold a diploma or advanced diploma, you may find your vocational qualification to be a suitable demonstration of your English competency.
I want to begin studying in semester 1
Apply for your Curtin course through TISC when applications open. You’ll be able to select up to six courses when you apply, so be sure to enter your choices in order of preference.

If your application is successful, you will be sent a letter of offer via email.
